The Sugar Daddy is from the little Italy section of a small city in central New York called Utica, where food is king. Utica lies at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains where there is nothing to do most of the year except stay inside, keep warm and make and eat great food.
The Sugar Daddy's family recipes were passed down to him by his Italian grandmother, Philomena, and came over from Italy in 1911. Since then many of the recipes were augmented with flavor in order to satisfy America's sweet tooth. This makes many of the baked goods unique to the Utica area where the recipes have been tested out on the local residents for 100 years and only the best survived the test of time.
Moving to Broward County in 2000, The Sugar Daddy brought the recipes with him. However, it wasn't until 2022 that he decided to share his family sweets with the local community. He is bringing a taste of his home town to Wilton Manors and Oakland Park. Daddy makes his sweets with the same love and attetion that Philomena did sharing them with the community he loves as his chosen family.
Made with full flavor including eggs and dairy
These cakes were called Poor Mans Cake in the early 20th century because it was hard to get eggs and dairy during the war.
